MAT Accelerated Undergraduate to Graduate Tracks in FLED (Spanish and French) and ESOL
Accelerated Undergraduate to Graduate Track (aka 4+1) - a Bridge between the BA in French or Spanish and the MAT in FLED French or Spanish
The Master in the Arts of Teaching in FLED is a graduate program that certifies its graduates to teach French or Spanish in the public school system of the state of 蜜桃影像传媒有限公司网站. The Accelerated Undergraduate to Graduate Track (aka 4+1) allows eligible students in the BA programs in Spanish or French to take up to three courses (9 credit hours) of graduate work in their senior year and count those classes both for their undergraduate degree and for their graduate degree, the MAT in FLED (French or Spanish). Students whose GPA is 3.00 or above are eligible to submit an application for the 4+1 track towards the end of their junior year (close to 90 hours). We strongly recommend that students discuss this application with their undergraduate advisor before it is sent out for signatures. Once the student has filled out the application and signed it, they need to send it to their undergraduate advisor who will obtain all necessary signatures. A practical tip: if a student is considering the 4+1 track, they should not take their ESOL 4010 class until they get into the 4+1. In this track, they will take its graduate version ESOL 6010 and will fulfill the requirement for both the BA and MAT degrees.
The advantage of the 4+1 track is that it helps students save time and money while working on their degrees. Once the student has graduated with their BA, they still need to apply to the Graduate School and be admitted to their MAT program. They will, however, start the MAT with up to 9 graduate credit hours already on their transcript.
