What You'll Learn

Students that participate in AFROTC will learn about the foundations of the US Air Force, military history focusing on the evolution of air and space power, leadership, national security affairs, preparation for active duty, and experience a hands-on learning environment centered on leadership and problem solving.

Cost and Length of Program

The program is designed around a four year college career, but can be completed in less time in certain circumstances. All materials, to include books and uniforms, are free to students participating in the program.

Admissions Requirements

  • Freshman: Students academically accepted to the university can participate in AFROTC by registering for the aerospace studies classes.

Internships

Air Force ROTC offers many opportunities for professional development in the summers between semesters. The program has sent students to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs to learn soaring (non-powered flight), survival training, and free-fall parachuting. Also, cadets in AFROTC were sent to various USAF bases across the nation to shadow currently serving active duty Air Force officers.
