Maila Springfield is Senior Lecturer in Music at Valdosta State University. She has served as staff accompanist for 蜜桃影像传媒有限公司网站 Southern University, the 蜜桃影像传媒有限公司网站 Governor’s Honors Program, the 蜜桃影像传媒有限公司网站 Music Educators Association’s All-College Chorus, the Buffet Crampon Summer Clarinet Academy, the Peach State Summer Theatre, and the Interlochen Arts Camp. Among her many competitive honors are top prizes in the Young Keyboard Artist Association International Competition, Music Teachers National Association Competition, International Young Artists Peninsula Music Festival, and the New York Volya Cossack Competition. Maila can be heard on saxophonist Joren Cain’s CD Voices of Dissent and on clarinetist Linda Cionitti's CD Jag & Jersey. She has performed with members of the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Philadelphia Orchestra.
Praised as “an excellent pianist, exhibiting solid technique and fine touch and pedal work” by American Record Guide, Maila Gutierrez Springfield has been recognized as a versatile collaborative pianist, performing with Steven Mead, Adam Frey, Justin Benavidez, Pascual Martinez Forteza, Daniela Mack, Alek Shrader, Nestor Torres, Susan Dubois, Taye Diggs, and Yo-Yo Ma.
Maila received her Bachelor of Music degree from Syracuse University. While earning her Master of Music degree at the Eastman School of Music, she was honored twice with the prestigious Excellence in Accompanying Award. Her teachers include Jean Barr, Nelita True, Steven Heyman, George Pappastavrou, Arlene Shrut, and Louise Lepley.
