Michelle has spent 37 years in the education and human services fields. She earned her bachelor's in psychology and master's in sociology and anthropology from Valdosta State University. She also completed several Marriage and Family Therapy courses in a postmaster certificate program. She attends Northcentral University pursuing a Ph.D. in education specializing in online learning. She is currently writing her dissertation, which explores first-generation college students' perspectives on their dual enrollment experience and self-efficacy.  

Michelle has taught courses in sociology, psychology, ethics, DEI, women and gender studies, and race, class, and gender. She has a wide range of expertise, including professional positions in crisis intervention, directing facilities, and working as a clinical therapist. Her goal as an educator is to instill lifelong learning in her students and find creative ways to communicate with learners to understand course objectives and how their work in class applies to their life, goals, and professional aspirations.
